Why is Alcohol so much more socially accepted compared to Weed?

It's because marijuana is illegal, plain and simple. Alcohol is worse for you physically in the long term, and more dangerous in the short term as well (drunk driving, sexual assault, etc.). Anyone who has done 5 minutes worth of research can tell you that. It all comes down to what is legal.
