Finding it hard to meet women and make friends in the city.?

I moved to a big city in Australia and I find it lonely and very hard to make friends. People don't seem approachable. In the country people seem more laid back. Although country people are clicky, City people are also clicky but in a different kind of way. I drive a truck all day and that's not a sociable job. I've been out to nightclubs and pubs but I just stand there and feel alone. I've been going to the Casino to be around others, I end up losing my money and going home broke and alone and feeling sad. There are so many temptations in the City that its hard to save money. I thought city life was gonna be great. I think you have to be either born there or go to school there to be able to understand the Psychology of how big cities work.
