Etiquette regarding asking someone at a nightclub to dance?

Well your first mistake is seeking companionship in a night club and expecting the company kept there to be other than what they are. But if you insist on finding your friends at the night club then I would sit and have a drink with the person and their party and at least find out about the person before asking them to dance and giving them a chance to feel you up.
