If i already had an ipod will all my songs on itunes be erased?

okay, well i had the old ipod touch already(the one without the camera). and i just got the newer one. so while setting it up it asked me if i wanted to restore from the backup of my old ipod or set it up as a new ipod. i dont want all the stuff from my old ipod onto this one so i would set it up as a enw ipod but if i do this i wont be losing everything inn my itunes library right? please let me know bc i have over 1000 songs!
