I lost all my apps when I restored?

Well I forgot my password to my iPod so I had to restore it. I even created a backup and when I restored everything, I could get in but I LOST EVERYTHING! I had all my iPod info but only ALL MY APPs ARE GONE! I am so upset right now! Can someone help me get them back?! Anyhow?!
